Victoria K, an aspiring country singer, received an early Christmas gift, a chance of a lifetime opportunity. On Sunday, December 12th, she has the opportunity to jam with Charlie Daniels, Bonnie Bramlett, Molly Hatchett’s Bobby Ingram, and Daniel Lee Martin.
Charlie Daniels was in town for his annual Angelus Charity Concert. On Sunday morning, the Angelus hosted a church service for their residents. Victoria K attended the service in the hopes of meeting Charlie Daniels and perhaps having a picture taken with him. During the service, Charlie asked if there were any singers in the crowd who would like to sing with him. Victoria K wasn’t going to pass up that opportunity! She thought that she would only sing one song, but when Charlie and Bonnie heard her sing the first verse of “Amazing Grace”, they were amazed. Bonnie told Charlie that “God had sent them an angel”. At the next song, they asked Victoria K to come back up and sing with them. Then came an even bigger surprise, Charlie asked her to sing “Silent Night” with him accompanying her. Can you imagine a young girl’s feeling at having Charlie Daniels play for her while she sang? When she got to the second verse, Charlie sang with her in a duet. As she was putting down the microphone, Bonnie and Charlie stopped her and the entire group jammed for the next half hour.
